The known find spots for these coin-like pendants are in and around Hungary north of the Danube, that is, in Sarmatia or Dacia. The prevalent type imitates a tetrarchic coin, indicating that they were produced in the early 4th century. Most are made in oricalchum (or brass), and some retain gilding. In this example, there is no integrated suspension loop and instead the flan is holed.
